Special Events for Youths Colony Days Parade Saturday, October 16th 3:30-4:30 pm Ages 5 and up Atascadero Library Martin-Polin Community Room A San Luis Obispo Symphony musician will make a 45 minute presentation of the instruments of the orchestra—their roles, similarities and differences. Children will then be given a chance to try them. Space is limited. Stranded! How Would You Survive? Wednesday, October 20th 3:30-5:30 pm Ages 10 and up Atascadero Library, Dave Wilson, Instructor and Director of Coyote Road School, will present an outdoor education program. The Apache Indians of the southwest had a philosophy of survival and an order to survival. Maybe you’ve heard about Survivor Man or Man Against Nature and wondered how you would do…now is your opportunity to give a few survival skills a shot. Besides learning the sacred order of survival needs, you’ll get a chance to experience fire by friction, learn about shelters and making string from a plant. Space is limited. Signups are required and begin Saturday, September 25th.
“Get Your Funny On” and join the Atascadero Friends of the Library and the Atascadero MOMS Club members as we march alongside vintage cars in the parade. If you are lucky, maybe you can ride on our first float! Watch for information about costume ideas at the Atascadero Library.
