FUTURE PROGRAMS: ATASCADERO LIBRARY'S ADULT READING AND LISTENING CHOCOLATE INCENTIVE PROGRAM! Read or listen to a fiction or nonfiction book and submit a 50–100 word book review critiquing & commenting on the title. We will post your review on a blog, http://amplibrary.wordpress.com/, or keep them at the Information Desk for others to read and comment upon.
SNAPSHOTS: WRITING WORKSHOP
January 15, 22, and 29 (7:00-9:00 PM): This is a hands-on opportunity to capture your special moments in writing.
Where: Martin Polin Room - Atascadero
Public Library.
For: Beginners and advanced beginners
Led by: Eileen O'Grady, writing teacher and
National Writing Project facilitator.
Session 1 (1/15) Recalling your past
Session 2 (1/22) Polishing your first efforts
Session 3 (1/29) Self-publishing your story/stories
Registration: Limited to 12 adults. Contact Brain Coburn at
461-6162 to register.
For every review submitted, you will receive a five dollar gift card to purchase chocolate. For every third review submitted, you will receive a ten dollar gift card to purchase chocolate. Gift cards generously paid for by the Atascadero Friends of the Library.

Accupuncture - Wednesday, October 29:
Keiko Ishikawa, owner of Templeton Healing Arts, discussed the uses and background of the ancient treatment of acupuncture. An actual acupuncture demonstration was part of the program.

Poetry Reading - Thursday, October 9: Friends of the Library hosted a "poetry reading" presented by the Plein Air Poets of San Luis Obispo County, Sylvia Alcon, Marguerite Costigan, Jane Elsdon, Paula C. Lowe, Terry Sanville, Cal Wilvert, and Rosemary Wilvert from their recently published book "Poems for Endangered Places."

In addition, FOL Vice President Eileen O'Grady announced that a contractor has been secured to conduct a feasibilty study for the expansion of the library on its current site. See Library Expansion News.
